He practised briefly for three months with his elder brother, now
Hon. Justice Rasheed Fawehinmi (Retd) at No.103, Herbert Macaulay Street, Ebute-Metta, Lagos.
In April 1965, he established his Chambers at No. 116, Denton Street, Ebute-Metta, Lagos. In 1974, he moved the Chambers to his house at No. 28, Sabiu Ajose Crescent, Surulere, Lagos. In 1978, he finally moved the Chambers to its present site at No. 35, Adeniran Ajao Road, Ajao Estate, Anthony Village, Lagos.
The Chambers is reputed to be the largest Law Chambers in Nigeria. It has a collection of over two hundred and ninety thousand (290,000) law and law-related books on various subjects. The Chambers (and sister organisations including Nigerian Law Publications Ltd) has a staff strength of two hundred and one (201) with nineteen (19) out of the total number as practising lawyers (out of which only 3 are of Ondo origin). The Chambers and the sister organisations are totally detribalised, reflecting the ethnic diversity of the nation. The ethnic background of the key members of staff is as follows:
- Chief Gani Fawehinmi, LLD, SAN, the Head of Chambers is Yoruba from Ondo State.
- The Deputy Head of Chambers, Barrister Mohammed Fawehinmi is Yoruba from Ondo State.
- The Assistant Deputy Head of Chambers, Barrister Ugwuzor Adindu from Abia State
- The General Manager, Editorial, Mr. Agwu Okorafor is Igbo from Abia State.
- The Chambers Accountant, Mr Oluwadare Adebayo from Ondo State
- The Librarian, Mr. Kayode Olorunsomo from Ekiti State
- The Head of Computer/IT, Mr. Joseph Agbor from Cross River State
